Privacy Policy

01. Scope & who this covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Eduro Global (“Eduro Global”, “we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal data through the Eduro Fee mobile application (the “App”), available on Android and iOS.

Eduro Fee is built for schools and educational institutions (“Institutions”) to record student fee information and keep parents and guardians informed. Two groups use the App:

  • Institution Users — school administrators, accountants, or staff authorised by an Institution to enter and manage fee records.
  • Parent/Guardian Users — parents or guardians who use the App to view fee details relating to their child (“Student”).

Students are not expected to hold their own Eduro Fee accounts. Their information appears in the App because an Institution or a parent has entered it, for the purpose of administering and communicating school fees. If a future version of the App introduces direct student accounts, this Policy will be updated first, with the additional safeguards described in Section 5.

What we don't collect today: Eduro Fee does not currently offer online fee payment. We do not collect or store card numbers, UPI IDs, net-banking credentials, or any payment instrument data. See Section 6 for what changes if online payment is introduced later.

03. How we use it

We use the information described above to:

  • Display fee dues, payment history, and receipts to the relevant Institution and Parent/Guardian Users;
  • Send reminders and notices about upcoming or overdue fees, by SMS, push notification, or in-app message;
  • Let Institution staff manage student and fee records, and generate reports and reconciliations;
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts;
  • Respond to support requests and grievances;
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App's performance and reliability;
  • Meet accounting, tax, audit, and other legal obligations that apply to Institutions or to us; and
  • Detect and prevent fraud, misuse, or unauthorised access.

04. Legal basis for processing

Where India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) applies, we process personal data on the following bases:

  • Consent — Parent/Guardian and Institution Users consent to this Policy when creating an account or when an Institution enrols them, and may withdraw consent as described in Section 10.
  • Contractual necessity — processing needed to provide the App's core functionality to the Institution that has engaged Eduro Global.
  • Legitimate use — for example, responding to a request from a Parent/Guardian User, or complying with a legal obligation.

Institutions act as the primary point of contact for students and families and are responsible for obtaining any consent required under applicable education or data protection law before entering Student or Parent/Guardian information into the App.

05. Student & children's data

Most Students whose information appears in Eduro Fee are children. We take the following approach, consistent with Section 9 of the DPDP Act:

  • We rely on the Institution to obtain verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian before a Student's personal data is entered into the App, typically as part of admission or enrolment.
  • We do not carry out behavioural monitoring or tracking of Students, and we do not serve targeted or personalised advertising directed at children.
  • We collect only the Student data reasonably needed to administer and communicate school fees — we do not request unrelated categories of student data (such as academic performance, health, or biometric data) through this App.
  • A parent or guardian may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time through the channels in Section 10.

06. Fee & payment data

Current state. Eduro Fee is a fee tracking and communication tool. Institutions record how much is due and how much has been received (for example, after a payment made in person, by cheque, or by bank transfer arranged outside the App). The App does not process, transmit, or store any payment instrument data, and no online transaction takes place inside the App today.

Future online payments. We may in the future add the ability to pay fees online within the App, through a licensed, RBI-authorised payment aggregator or gateway. If we do:

  • Card, UPI, net-banking, and wallet details will be collected and processed directly by that payment partner under its own PCI-DSS-compliant systems — Eduro Global will not store full card numbers, CVV, or similar sensitive payment credentials;
  • The payment partner's own privacy policy and terms will apply to that specific transaction, in addition to this Policy; and
  • We will update this Policy and notify users in advance of enabling online payments.

07. Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed to run the App:

  • The relevant Institution — Institution staff can see the records for Students enrolled at that Institution.
  • Service providers we rely on to operate the App, such as cloud hosting, SMS/push-notification delivery, crash reporting, and customer-support tooling, bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
  • Payment partners — only once online payment is introduced, and only for the transaction the user initiates (see Section 6).
  • Regulators, courts, or law-enforcement authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.
  • A successor entity, if Eduro Global is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — with notice to affected users where required by law.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data, and we do not share Student or Parent/Guardian data with advertisers.

08. Retention

We retain personal data for as long as the associated Institution account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet accounting, tax, and other legal record-keeping obligations that apply to fee and financial records (which can run to several years under applicable Indian law). Device and diagnostic logs are generally kept for a shorter period for troubleshooting purposes. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or render it non-identifiable.

09. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption of data in transit, access controls limiting who can view Institution and Student records, and role-based permissions within the App. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you or, where you are a parent/guardian, about your child;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Request erasure of data that is no longer needed for the purposes it was collected for;
  • Withdraw consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal;
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity; and
  • Lodge a complaint with us, or with the Data Protection Board of India (once operational) or other applicable regulator.

Because Student and fee records are entered and managed by Institutions, we ask that requests relating to a Student's data are first directed to the Student's school where possible; we will still action any request sent to us directly at the contact in Section 13.

11. Cross-border transfers

Our service providers may store or process data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure the recipient provides an appropriate level of protection, and we do not transfer personal data to any country or territory that the Government of India restricts by notification under the DPDP Act.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time, including as we add features such as online payments. We will post the revised Policy in the App and update the effective date above; where changes are material, we will provide additional notice (for example, by in-app message or email) before they take effect.
